Homemade Acai Bowl

Recipe

The smoothie bowl is a great post workout snack. It is packed with 35 grams of protein and 70 grams of carbs (all from fruit/juice), which is an optimal combo for a post workout meal or snack (2:1 ratio of carbs to protein).

Ingredients

  • 1/2 banana
  • 1 cup strawberries
  • 1 frozen acai packet
  • 8 oz orange juice
  • 1.25 scoops of vanilla protein powder

Directions

  1. In a blender, blend all of the ingredients together until smooth.
  2. Freeze for 8+ hours.
  3. Run a Ninja Cremi cycle on "milkshake" and re-spin 1-2 times.
  4. Add toppings of choice and enjoy!

Possible Toppings:

  • Drizzle of peanut butter
  • Granola
  • Sliced fruit
  • Honey
  • Dark chocolate chips
